Making use of my roof hatch

When designing my new house, there was little question that it would have a flat roof for a thoroughly modern look. I also knew I wanted to have an operable roof hatch to make the best use of the flat roof. (The hatch is clear poly-carbonate, so it also functions as a nice skylight.)
This weekend, I took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather in the Mid-Atlantic region to get up on the roof and scrub the side of the white-colored roof flashing, which was starting to show grime.
I used a faucet adapter to connect a lightweight H2Zero fabric hose to my laundry room sink so I would have a water source on the roof -- not only to spray the flashing, but also to avoid carrying a bucket full of soapy water up the ladder.

I'm terrified of falling, so I strap myself in this oh-so-stylish Guardian roof fall protection harness and keep myself on a short leash:

To further avoid falling, I get down on my hands and knees when I get close to the roof edge.
This was my first project on my new roof, and I'm glad to report it was a success.
